Eat, Drink, and Be Merry
A Second Helping of San Fran There is something hardwired in my head that puts family vacations and fabulous meals into the same category. The moment I finish booking plane tickets, it is on to my 3 favorite words… breakfast, lunch and dinner. Perhaps make that 4... dessert. I believe I made magic in the breakfast world on our last pilgrimage and I might be inclined to do an encore production. Dottie’s True Blue, Mama’s on Washington Square, and Plow made the highlights reel.

Doing What Needs to be Done
It is so important that we take care of our bodies. Information is power and I have avoided having a colonoscopy for the better part of 4 years. Why? Just because it was honestly… wait for it… a real pain in the ass. The prep is supposed to suck, the procedure will have me out for a day and life gave me lots of easy excuses to put it off. The real truth is that I’ve never been sedated or had anesthesia, and I’m afraid. How’s that for karma? My husband is an anesthesiologist.

Still Blooming
Originally published 4/21/2010 -Blooming again I have two large terracotta flower pots on either side of my front door. I always have. I love walking up the brick path to our front door and seeing color and life. It makes me feel happy to be home. Keeping fresh flowers alive on a shady porch involves a fair amount of maintenance but the pros so far outweigh the cons, and I'll take it. There are certain things in life you have to feel. I am now a self proclaimed expert on all things relating to lost luggage. Have You Seen this Suit?
So 24 hours later, Alan has heard nothing from Delta Airlines about his missing suit bag containing a brand new Hugo Boss suit, shirt and tie. I have percolated on the situation and my perspective has changed. I am now his advocate because I think Delta is accountable and here's why. When Alan boarded the plane holding his suit bag, intending to place it in an overhead bin, he was greeted by a pleasant Delta flight attendant who asked if she could hang the bag for him in the

Peace in my Soul
April 15, 2014~ 3 years ago today Today was a lightbulb day, not just a moment. My favorite peace sign earrings that I wear every single day were MIA this morning for a full hour~ yes, 60 minutes of terror. They were a gift from Alan and a sparkly reminder of the peace I seek daily in my soul. When I finally found them, I literally told God that I would take this day with grace and poise and be grateful for every single thing that came my way. I drew every breath true to my w

A Wing and a Prayer
This whole United Airlines bru-ha-ha (not at all ha ha) feels a bit like the presidential election. For me, there was an initial shock after both. And then I realized that it was a calling for us to be better, to do our part and make our difference. As citizens, or consumers, we have become complacent. We’ve fallen asleep at the wheel. We don’t bother to read the teeny tiny print and just assume our rights, because that feels better. We believe things will always stay the way
