"They say, 'when the student is ready, the teacher appears.' And that she did."

I was 17 and a senior in high school when I first started blogging. Upon attending orientation for Boston University (the college I was supposed to study at), I was inspired by an English professor who, more or less, encouraged us to keep reading and writing over the summertime to keep our minds active.

Writing was never my forte, but I had a lot of thoughts and ideas; a lot of "tabs" open in my head, so to speak, that I needed to organize and shed some light on. So I dedicated that summer and following year to that blog, channeling my inner Rory Gilmore and Carrie Bradshaw. And to my surprise, people actually read it!

Cathy walked into my life a few years later. They say, "when the student is ready, the teacher appears." And that she did. Over time, she would become my mentor, teacher and friend.

Although it was no surprise when Cathy told me she wanted to start a blog, I was stunned when she asked me to create it with her.

Cathy, like me, has a lot of "tabs" open and her website is a medium for organization and creativity. Visually, it is Cathy on a screen - colorful, quirky and bold. Her content is original and full of passion, motivated by her desire to bring the community together, near and far.

I've seen a new side of Cathy that I'd never seen before - a person very similar to 17 year-old Kiki. She's a ball of creative energy with an overwhelming desire to reveal it to the world. And although she lives a very transparent lifestyle, this website was a huge step out of her comfort zone to really put herself out there. But her intentions are pure and I have no doubt this medium will inspire others to navigate their lives in some way.

It has been an absolute honor and pleasure to collaborate with Cathy and help bring her dream into fruition. I encourage you to follow her journey!
